Das Symposium untersucht den Diskurs des Dinghaften als Bindeglied zwischen Emotionsforschung und avantgardistischer Ästhetik. Es soll nach den Form- und Sprachanteilen – des Dinghaften wie der Emotion – gefragt werden. Die sprachliche, soziale und künstlerische Form-Gebung und Form-Werdung des Dings steht im Zentrum des Interesses. Das Symposium erprobt eine experimentelle Annäherung an diese Prozesse in einem Grenzgang zwischen Aktion, Kunst und Wissenschaft. Die TeilnehmerInnen werden Dinge materiell präsentieren und diskursiv erörtern.

In search for a missing link between science of emotion and avant-garde aesthetics, the conference suggests to focus on discourses on the ‘thing’, to reflect how both, thing and emotion, are constituted by language. Thus, the linguistic, social and artistic forming by things and formation of things can be analyzed. This symposium ventures an exploration of such processes by an experimental setting between action, art and science. Each participant will present and discuss one particular object
