What does it mean to conceive of the body not as a given entity, but as a process in constant transformation? This event explores the relationship between performativity and embodiment, challenging the traditional mind-body dualism. Taking as its starting point the recently published volume Performing Embodiment. Choreographies of Affect, Language, and Social Norms (ICI Berlin Press, 2026), spanning philosophy, literature, dance, language, gender, and disability studies, the discussion will explore the choreographies through which bodies produce knowledge, inhabit the world, and transform social norms.
