The fourteenth volume of the Series ‘Cultural Inquiry’, a monograph authored by ICI Associate Member Luca Di Blasi, has just been released by the publisher Turia + Kant.

The ‘West’ is moving ever more clearly out of the centre of a world it has decisively shaped over the course of centuries. The ‘Western world’, and Europe in particular, thus ironically drifts towards the periphery of a ‘Westernized world’. And fundamental secular assumptions are rendered problematic in the process. This decentring is therefore accompanied by a ‘return of religion’, which retroactively reveals in 20th century philosophy a hidden continuation of religious orientations. This ‘religion of philosophy’ is the subject of the texts collected in the present volume.
