The film by Giovanni Frazzetto and Suzanne Anker documents and collages the ways in which the brain and neurons have been portrayed in both popular culture arenas and the scientific community.

The screening is accompanied by the installation ‘The Hothouse Archives’ by Suzanne Anker, of large-scale photographs on watercolor paper depicting brain coral and the biophysics of neurons which represent the metaphorical associations concerning the brain.

This event marks the opening of the workshop ‘Neurocultures’ co-organized by the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science and the BIOS Centre of the London School of Economics.
