Vita

Angelika Seppi is Research Coordinator at the ICI Berlin. She supports the director in coordinating the current research focus on AutoReduction, identifying and commenting on relevant research material, preparing the weekly colloquia, and assisting in the organization of the project’s accompanying lecture series and publication.

With a PhD in philosophy, her research and teaching span the history and critique of metaphysics, media and cultural studies, as well as aesthetics, art, and visual history. She is currently guest professor for Philosophy/Aesthetics at the UdK Berlin. Previously, she was interim professor for Philosophy at Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design, Halle; visiting professor for History and Theory of Cultural Techniques at Bauhaus University Weimar; and long-term research associate at the Institute for Art and Visual History and the Cluster of Excellence Bild Wissen Gestaltung at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.

She has worked extensively on the relation between writing and justice, the figure of the fold, the history of formalization, the ecologization of cultural techniques, and the technologization of ecology. Her current work focuses on container techniques, the question of domestication, (indigenous) image systems, and decolonial perspectives on cultural techniques research.
